    This webinar will explore the fundamentals of Data-Driven Decision-Making in public administration, highlighting its critical role in improving policy outcomes and operational efficiency. Attendees will learn when and how to leverage data effectively, understand the importance of selecting the right analytical tools, and gain insights into best practices for implementing data-driven strategies in their organizations.

    Featuring guest speaker, Jennifer Spore:

    Dr. Jennifer Spore is an economist with over 18 years of combined experience in academia and data analytics. She is currently with the California Department of Industrial Relations where she works in economic impact assessments of proposed regulations. Prior to her current appointment, Dr. Spore served at the California Department of Finance where she managed a team responsible for macroeconomic forecasting for the Governor's Budget and the review and approval of regulatory impact assessments of the state's proposed regulations. She also served at the California Department of Justice where she was the department's lead on workforce planning and HR data analytics. Prior to her state service, Dr. Spore was an adjunct professor of Economics and Quantitative Research Methods at institutions including the University of the Pacific and Drexel University. Dr. Spore earned her Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics from U.C. Davis in 2008 and her Master of Public Administration from McGeorge School of Law in 2021. Dr. Spore is also an adjunct professor for the Master of Public Policy and Administration Programs, and will be teaching PUB 233 – Public Management Analytics in summer of 2025 and PUB 221 – Economics and Tools in Fall of 2025.
